stylespiration: cheyenne tozzi

// instyle

I've always had a bit of a girl crush on Cheyenne Tozzi. A fellow Cronulla girl, I grew up seeing her out and about, always looking effortlessly pulling off looking casual and polished all at the same time. I don't know how she does it but she seems to have encapsulated the vibe of a beachside suburb in her day to day looks. It's about quality basics, monochrome with the occasional punch of colour, structured blazers and ankle boots. I know who's style i'll be emulating this winter.. and it just so happened to be the push I needed to purchase that phenomenal striped Bassike sweater.

monochrome

the birdcage boutique

How great are these monochrome pieces from Cameo the Label and Finders Keepers? I'm such a sucker for black & white, especially through winter, so when I saw these new arrivals from both labels (both of whom have been KILLING it lately) I was instantly in love. There's definitely something timeless and classic about the monochrome trend and I love that these pieces are an edgy, modern take on something so definitively classic.

REFLECTIONS: Maurie & Eve Winter '13

www.maurie&eve.com

Came across some snaps of Maurie & Eve's Winter '13 collection whilst browsing instagram (@chloekiara) this morning and I have since been blown away by the full collection on their website. Absolutely gorgeous - full of textural elements, some great prints and a bold splash of colour which is sure to brighten things up on a dull winters day. I can actually really see myself wearing a lot of the pieces in this collection - they're those solid statement pieces that can be easily thrown on to glam up the everyday outfit. What i'm loving most though, is the party pieces for winter! Some great skirts and dresses with long sleeves or thick fabrics that won't leave you shivering like a crazy person when you're out and about. Keep an eye out for this one - pre-orders have already started going nuts at a few different boutiques. My key pick? The black & white dress (4th row) and the perfect asymmetrical skirt above it! The collection drops from the 15th April.

Blast away the winter blues...

PLT Neon Knits

PLT Pastel Knits

If there's one thing that I truly love about winter, it's knitwear. The joy of an oversized, comfy, warm jumper that makes you feel like you're still wrapped up in bed, even when you have to venture out into the finger-numbingly-cold wind and rain. However, the one thing that has always bugged me about the knitwear I found was the winter colour palette; oatmeal, black, navy, burgundy... whilst I know for a fact these colours can look amazing, I always end up craving my vibrant summer hues! So when I stumbled across these amazing knits from Pretty Little Thing, I knew they were exactly what I've been looking for. Whether you're looking for something subtle, like a nice dash of pastel pink with some jeans and boots, or you've got the guts to go all out with a bright pop of neon green and some skinny leather pants, they've got it covered. Best part - they're all under $40! Definitely worth checking them out.

AW13 shoe edit

Aw13 Shoes

I have been making some solid fashion investments lately. By that, I mean that I have been spending far too much money on my wardrobe and have been trying to find every justification under the sun to make myself feel better about my pretty collection of shoes and pretty sad looking bank account. I've never been much of a shoe person, but lately the releases have been just too good to pass up. Wittner were having an amazing discount sale - not sure if it's still going but go check it out - which was a buy one get the second pair 50% off. I'm a sucker for leopard print so the heels were a no brainer, I love the print and the chunky heel combined with the pointed toe is a winner in my books. I was a bit hesitant about the white flats as I'm only 5'5", so sometimes the extra length in pointy flats make me look like I have clown feet but I LOVE them, especially with the crocodile skin finish.
The second purchase was the wedge sneakers from Windsor Smith. I adore the Isabel Marant ones but despite them being out of my price range, I was struggling to find the  black colour way ANYWHERE. These WS ones are definitely the closest match I could find to the originals and they are super comfortable - can see myself wearing these with everything in winter.
Lastly, my fashion choices of late have been heavily inspired by one half of the amazing They All Hate Us duo Elle Ferguson - i've never seen anyone rock a pair of boots & shorts like she does, and so I 'invested' in a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots - and I think they are my favourite pair out of the lot. So comfy, look amazing with shorts AND pants, and they definitely add that little bit of oomph to a basic, everyday outfit.
